Because of the dramatic cost-savings and increased level of comfort associated with energy-efficient homes, “green” building is rapidly becoming the norm in new home construction.

Mitch Lowrey is one of the few Triad builders certified by both the Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star program and the National Association of Home Builders’ Green Build program.

Our homes meet strict energy-efficiency standards, and as a result, our homebuyers enjoy immediate and long-term benefits. Energy Star homes are proven to be at least 15 percent more energy-efficient—though most of our homes are typically around 30 percent more efficient—than a home built by traditional methods. Our clients are often amazed to see the significant savings on their heating and cooling bills! A certified energy-efficient home is also quieter with more precise temperature regulation, requires less overall maintenance, and has better inside air quality for a healthier, more comfortable living space. Plus, “green” homeowners benefit from added home value and improved resale value.

About Energy Star
In 1992, the EPA created Energy Star as a way to help consumers identify products and services that meet strict energy-efficiency standards. While any company can say it’s “green” or “environmentally friendly,” Energy Star companies must meet strict criteria and be evaluated by a third-party professional to receive the Energy Star stamp of approval.

Similar guidelines apply to the NAHB’s Green Build program. A builder must meet very specific criteria to become a NAHB Certified Green ProfessionalTM. To learn more about the National Association of Home Builders’ Green Build program, visit www.nahbgreen.org.
